Who owns your dreams?

Dream Team is an MA thesis project and speculative brand concept exploring what it would mean to build a product around our most deep, inner worlds.

Designed in 2021, the project explored the idea of using open source visual AI to turn spoken dream reports into generated video. At a time when that technology was still being patched together from scratch. The tools I was working with speculatively then are what generative AI does for everyone now.

The work covers brand identity, visual language, product concept, and a competitive research foundation.

Completed as part of an MA in Visual & Experience Design at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, 2021.

Dream Team — Speculative Brand & Product Concept

If I rebuilt this today — visual identity

  • Fully typographic UI: no illustration, no character, no decorative detail

  • Monochromatic base palette so AI-generated visuals carry the story

  • One typeface, used with restraint: contrast as a design tool

  • Motion language: slow, ambient, non-interactive feeling, the app breathes

Design decisions I'd reverse

  • The illustrated character goes entirely

  • The purple accent colour reads too "wellness app"

  • Onboarding illustrations would be replaced with actual AI-generated imagery from day one, even rough

  • The logo mark would be reconsidered — "Dream Team" as a wordmark is fine but the current treatment is too childish

Tools I'd use now

  • Midjourney — visual identity development and art direction

  • Runway ML / Sora — dream video generation

  • After Effects + Lottie — ambient UI motion

  • Figma — same as 2021, but with much more developed component system
